Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As an official for the Space and Defense Department Kristin Fisher is a reporter covering everything from NASA to the recently formed Space Force as well as commercial space businesses and tourism in space. Kristin was born into the sector of space, as the daughter and granddaughter of NASA astronauts. For the last five years, she has covered space policies under Biden and Trump administrations for FOX News. The reporter also reported on the presidential election in 2020 as well as the efforts of two administrations to combat the coronavirus. The former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan on a highly-restricted trip. Before being hired by the channel in, Kristin spent nearly a decade advancing through the local news channels which included Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. Kristin started Field Mouse Films with her experience behind the camera in 2014. Field Mouse Films specialized in making documentaries for corporate clients including Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism at Boston University. She and her husband reside at Washington, D.C., and is the mother of a 3-year-old daughter.
