She portrayed an unwed bride and was married to a man in middle in age (the role that Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka performed with Shahid Kapoor, Vi Das Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das and Meiyang Chang in the 2010 film "Badmash Company". The film received mixed reviews. Anushka appeared as a Punjabi girl who was from middle class in a movie named 'Band Baaja Baraat. Anushka was in the film with Ranveer. The movie received positive reviews and proved to be a sleeper hit. Anushka's contract for three films at Yash Raj Films ended with Band Baaja Baraat.
